There’s something I need to know, and I’m only like a decade and some change late, so
What’s the best home (for purchase) in vanilla Skyrim?
Breezehome (Whiterun)
Hjerim (Windhelm)
Honeyside (Riften)
Vlindrel Hall (Markarth)
Proudspire Manor (Solitude)
I’m nosy, show me the ‘zults
Extra credit if you specify why in the tags. I’m curious how many people’s preference is tied to the city perks versus the house perks themselves

watched some video about a shitty kid yesterday and caught myself thinking “my god the kids these days are out of control” and praise the Lord I immediately reflexively scolded myself like “you were exactly this stupid when you were 13, stupider probably, here’s a memory of you doing and saying something so completely terrible because you were a kid and kids don’t know better” you cannot let up your vigilance even for a moment, you must constantly fight against age related conservatism and never stop internally interrogating your reactions

The fact that Orlando Bloom (Legolas) and Andy Serkis (Gollum) both said that they based their performances in Lord of the Rings off of cat behavior really shows you the sheer range of what cats are like

writer’s block (dry) = no desire to write, no ability to write (bearable)
writer’s block (wet) = HUGE desire to write, no ability to write (very evil)
Thank you for this distinction. I hate it.

I ache for more TES books.
Its a crime that we only have two and they’re both from the same storyline.
TES clearly has plenty of talented writers working on the series given there’s hundreds upon hundreds of mini lore books in the games.
I wish they’d let some of them loose and write stuff that was longer. Kirkbride seems like the only person who’s semi-attempted to write long-form TES books even tho he leaves a lot of projects unfinished and his later writings are obviously not canon.
I feel there is amble room in the TES lore and timeline to allow for an ample amount of books and or book series without stepping on the toes of the games’ lore.

totally crazy example to use to demonstrate The Comparative Loneliness Epidemic Of The Twenty-First Century. melville was lonely as hell just jerking it unreciprocated to nathaniel hawthorne every night. that’s a different thing

one thing no adaptation of Peter Pan ever does is give Wendy Darling her pet wolf. in the novelization at least, the kids have Neverland full of stuff they imagined into being while playing at their home on earth, and the one thing Wendy has is a pet wolf. It’s a fully wild wolf but he’s friendly and loyal only to her. and nobody pays attention to her so they didn’t notice, but she did notice, and she was happy that the wolf found her to say hi and play. Wendy Darling was a wolf girl but no adaptation ever has captured this, and I think we should give it some focus next time
Listen I don’t care if u skip story cutscenes (even though you’re missing half the experience) like whatever but if you then TURN AROUND and complain that the game “doesn’t make sense” I sentence you to ten thousand years in the acid fire death pit.

It’s been two years since the great gatsby entered the public domain and Netflix hasn’t even made a horrible miniseries adaptation where they are all hot and gay and racially diverse but in a totally hollow meaningless unsexy way. We used to live in society

people complaining that any critique of a thing they like ruins it for them is such a skill issue. personally i can spend 10 hours a day critiquing the things i like and still enjoy them passionately and wholeheartedly
